Day 3 - Durham to Aviemore

So today was the first big travel day of the holiday, as we drive all the way from the North East of England to the Highlands in Scotland. We were organised and had the bulk of our belonging in the car for an early start. We got up at 7am, and had left by 8am. The journey was pretty good, and we did it in about 5 hours with 3 breaks.

Unfortunately the weather has been very changeable today. We had tried to arrive early so we could sit outside whilst we waited of the lodge to be ready at 4pm, however it was raining on and off, so we decided to take Izzy for a short walk before we had lunch.

We had to sit outside with Izzy, but we were able to move a couple of chairs underneath a canopy to stay dry. We had some nice burgers and a drink.

By the time we were ready to "move in", the weather had improved a bit. There was loads of things to bring in from the car, but within a few minutes everything had been packed away. Afterwards, I went to lay on the bed for a bit and ended up sleeping for a couple of hours!

Lodge, in the sunshine and rain!
